How I started....

In May I went to the Great Lakes Mega Meet.  This is the biggest scrapbooking convention.  Lots of vendors, lots of classes and also crops.

I love the Close to My Heart workshops.  I stopped by a booth run by Barbra Otten.  She brought more workshops in for me to look at.  There was one that caught my eye.  The Chantilly one.

These Workshops on the Go include everything you need except the ink.  And a booklet that gives you cutting instructions and step by step instructions on how to create the Layout.

When I picked this one Barbra pointed out that the Workshop on the Go costs $30, however, the New Consultant Kit costs $49 and comes with this workshop.  It also included inks, more stamps, more paper, idea books and much more.

She said I could take the kit and not bother with being a consultant and enjoy the discount on the products or I could make a business.

Well, for the first couple of months I just enjoyed the 22% off I got from being a consultant and nothing else.  Then I asked around to some friends if they would be interested in a Card Workshop or crops.  Since most Scrapbooking stores closed around us we do not have the selection for crops anymore so everyone was receptive to the idea.

So I started thinking more about actually doing this.

Next came an opportunity to attend consultant training camp.  Well I had only met my upline once in May and would not know anyone but her.  Hmmm ...should I go?  Everyone on the boards were talking highly about it so I said what the heck. I signed up then put a shout out to see if anyone wanted to share rooms.

I found some nice ladies that were willing to take me in.  :)

I was a little scared at first but by the end of the weekend I was soooo happy I went.  I made lots of new friends.  Learned tons of new techniques and information on direct sales and most of all had a blast.

 

This was my cool rocker face for the themed table event.

 

 

So here I am now, I've had one Party ... Thanks Susan .... and have all kinds of ideas for Card Clubs and Workshops.
